顏料黃12為中性黃,符合四色印刷的色標;高著色力、鮮豔度和透明度(Lutetia Yellow 2JRT比表面積為44m2/g);中等耐溶劑性,有重結晶傾向;耐光、耐候牢度低,在標準深度1/1和1/3時為3級和2級,比其他黃色顏料(PY13,83,127,176)低1-2級。廣泛用於印刷油墨,可用於包裝印刷油墨,美國採用擠壓相色漿配方;也可用於顏料印刷和塑料著色,軟質PVC有一定的遷移性,良好的耐熱性使其用於聚氨酯泡沫塑料的著色。
顏料黃12用於油墨、油漆、橡膠、塑料、顏料印花漿、文教用品的著色。
Pigment Yellow 12 is an organic compound and an azo compound. It is a widely used yellow pigment. It is also classified as a diarylide pigment, being derived from 3,3'-dichlorobenzidine. It is closely related to 顏料黃13, wherein the two phenyl groups are replaced by 2,4-xylyl.
